Deflection of O<sub>2</sub> <sup>+</sup> Ion Flow by Magnetic Fields in the Martian Ionosphere

Abstract The effect of the Martian crustal magnetic field on ion escape is focus considerable interest. Directions fields near Mars determined by interaction between Mars’ and interplanetary have been suggested to play a significant role transport around Mars. In this study we investigate physical mechanism deflection O 2 + flow in two typical orientations at horizontal plane ionosphere performing 3D multifluid Hall magnetohydrodynamic simulations. Cross validation simulation results from cases with G110 model equivalent source dipole reveals that due electric force, tends be accelerated eastwards region occupied outward fields, westwards inward fields. These are helpful for understanding impact ionospheric ions space environment.
